#One Lux

CHENGDU, CHINA

Australian artist Belinda Smith worked alongside UAP to create her suspended artwork One Lux for the Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li development in Chengdu, China. Smith has observed that humanity has lit their world to such extremes that in many densely populated cities, we have lost sight of the moon and stars altogether.

The soft mirror finished stainless steel work, suspended between buildings, reminds us not to forget the scale of our existence and our place in the universe. The pattern was developed through observing imagery of the surface of the moon and how the moon might be reflecting the stars of the universe.
