#Untitled 2016

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

Aboriginal Artist Reko Rennie collaborated with UAP to deliver Untitled 2016, an installation for the Aqui Promenade luxury apartment development in the NewQuay precinct in Melbourne’s Docklands. The NewQuay precinct was designed with a strong focus on an activated and enlivened public realm, displaying high quality architecture
and design thinking outcomes. Rennie’s street level artwork utilises his signature bold geometric designs in vibrant colours and neon, and is visible from multiple
vantage points as visitors approach the building.

Reko Rennie is an interdisciplinary artist who explores his Aboriginal identity through contemporary mediums and forms. His use of graphic geometric shapes in bold colours reference traditional Indigenous patterning associated with his community, the Kamilaroi people. In Untitled 2016, Rennie explores the connections between Indigenous culture and identity, and the contemporary, urban environment of NewQuay Aqui.
