#Water Spirit

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Australian artist Tracey Deep is known for her sculptures and installations made of
found natural objects that celebrate native Australian flora. Deep was commissioned to develop a site-specific installation for the expansive wall space of the lobby of AMP Angel Place, a commercial office development in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

Referencing Indigenous history, Water Spirit is a three-part installation that draws inspiration from the original natural landscape of the area, paying homage to the traditional owners of the land.

UAP worked alongside Deep to translate her work from temporal natural materials,
into an up-scaled permanent installation. Comprised of 3 unique elements, the artwork uses predominately welded cast aluminium branches bound together with a waxed cotton, creating a meditative visual language through form, shape and movement.

UAP was engaged from the onset of this project, developing a complete art
strategy for development and working with the client and artist through all stages of design development, fabrication and installation.
