#Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument
NEW YORK CITY, USA
Located in the heart of Central Park, Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument is a 14-foot-tall bronze sculpture that depicts Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in the act of discussion.
The sculpture was brought to life by the non-profit organization Monumental Women and artist Meredith Bergmann and marks the first artwork in Central Park that depicts
real-life women.
UAP was honored to work with Meredith during the fabrication and installation of the sculpture. After the artist delivered her intricately detailed clay patterns to our workshop, UAP cast the work in bronze using the lost-wax casting process. These castings were assembled and welded in the workshop, followed by a patina treatment that was carried out under the artist’s direction.
This timely sculpture was unveiled on August 26, 2020, an important date that marked the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote in the United States.
