#Ambit

PERTH, AUSTRALIA

Australian artist Daniel Templeman is renowned for his sculptural practice which investigates the potential of formal geometries to create complex experiences. An exciting evolution in the artist’s practice, Ambit is a screening system comprised of two overlapping laser-cut panels lit from within. With an interactive LED lighting system splaying subtle washes of colour across the screen, Ambit creates an immersive and engaging experience which responds to and amplifies local dynamics.

Developed for Museum Street in the City of Perth, the artwork expands on Templeman’s interest in ideas of exchange, implicating the viewer journey and experience in the realisation of the work. UAP worked with Templeman to design and construct the artwork, investigating materials and finishes which would capture the artist’s intent, whilst delivering a durable and sophisticated addition to the local streetscape.
