Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson

British artist Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson collaborated with UAP to curate, develop, fabricate and install 2 site-specific sculptures for the new luxury residential development Excellence Tang Villa in Zhuhai, China. The entrance artwork titled Transience – Formed by the gentle touch of the sea, was inspired by the natural landscape of the local area where the coast meets the sea, resulting in the natural and imperfect beauty of erosion. The water-feature piece titled Serenity – Inward reflection, is a tall sculpture that stands alone in the meditative space of the water garden, inviting opportunity for thought and contemplation.

Several provinces in China were visited to source the white marble, which was then hand carved by the craftspeople in UAP’s China workshop.
